"To help represent the underserved community"
Why FSU?
I chose to attend FSU largely because of the location and the rich history that FSU has established over the years.
Motivation to pursue a graduate degree
I was motivated to pursue a graduate degree in the FSU College of Law by the lack of Black attorneys in my hometown.
Importance of research and work
Being present in an underrepresented field, particularly in criminal law, helps bridge the gap and work toward achieving justice for everyone.
Advice for anyone considering graduate school
Be sure that it is something that you want to pursue. Stay persistent, and do not let anyone deter you from reaching your goals.
Accomplishments during graduate career
Making the trial team at the end of my first year of law school, serving as the community service chair for the Black Law Student Association, and participating in the Florida Gubernatorial Fellows Program.
Career aspirations
I want to work as a public defender and serve the indigent. I then want to serve in the Air Force as a JAG (Judge Advocate General's Corps) officer.
