Why did you choose to attend FSU to pursue a graduate degree?
I chose FSU because of the connections I made while earning my bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
What motivated you to pursue a graduate degree?
To continue learning in my field. I wanted to become an expert in my field and influence the field.
Describe the importance of your research and work? Why should anyone care about the work you are doing?
I hope to make scientific contributions to my field. I want to see real changes made toward how students learn in a classroom. Identifying and changing students' mindsets can have profound effects on their success.
Briefly describe your career aspirations.
I hope to continue with research in my field, developing and influencing pedagogy, and continue instructing students at the college level.
Advice for anyone considering graduate school.
It is important to set small goals along the way. Also, prepare to limit your time with others significantly. Build a support system of friends and family who will pick you up during the difficult times as well as share in the joy of your successes.
