Why FSU?

I knew I had the support I needed in the faculty at the Florida State University Panama City campus. The faculty here could see my potential and encouraged me to pursue my dreams. They have continued to inspire and motivate me to pursue any career I'm interested in. I am forever grateful for Florida State University Panama City for giving me my wings to fly toward my goals.

Motivation to pursue a graduate degree

My support system and network of peers and mentors have continued to encourage me and motivated me to pursue graduate school. I didn't have a lot of faith in my ability before starting graduate school, but they saw my potential, and I'm so glad I have now chosen this path!

Importance and/or impact of research and work

Communications is found everywhere, in every job and relationship we build. Understanding people and how they interact has helped me grow as a person and understand better how I interact with the people around me. My field of study focuses on the important interaction between psychology and business. At the end of the day, we are all just people trying to communicate and grow with the people around us. In this way, communication is the cornerstone to business and society.

Career aspirations

My professors and peers have really encouraged my creativity. I have especially enjoyed my classes in marketing and advertising, and I hope to pursue those avenues in the future.

Advice for anyone considering graduate school

Don't be afraid to put yourself out there in order to better yourself. Just trying will prove to you that you are capable of gaining knowledge. That is what is important in the long run. We will always be students and we will always keep learning, even after we have stepped away from the classroom or Zoom classes. I think it is important to always seek knowledge to better yourself.

Accomplishments during graduate career

I'm proud of myself for pursuing and succeeding so far in this degree program! In particular, I have been especially excited about several group projects that I have been a part of.
