Making the decision to pursue a graduate degree was not an easy one for me. There are several reasons why I chose to advance into further education. Most importantly, obtaining a graduate degree will allow me to find many more opportunities in the field of accounting. A master’s degree will enable me to sit for the CPA exam which is another goal of mine. Lastly, I want to gain more knowledge about the field of taxation. My undergraduate degree did a phenomenal job of introducing me to tax concepts but I would like to learn more.

Having completed my third internship with Ernst & Young this past summer has reassured me that a graduate degree is essential for my future success in the field. I was given the opportunity to work with several international clients this summer and even travel abroad to do international taxation! The most challenging aspect (and my favorite part) of taxation is keeping up with the fast paced and evolving laws and regulations.

Obtaining a fellowship has been a blessing. Financially, the fellowship has removed most of my financial burden and will allow me to focus on my studies. My future career aspirations include passing the CPA exam, starting full time at Ernst & Young and discovering what field within taxation I enjoy the most!
