DoD SMART Fellowship
The Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program awards full-tuition STEM scholarships for a range of eligible fields. Funded by the Department of Defense, SMART offers a unique education and workforce development opportunity. During degree pursuit, SMART scholars receive an annual stipend enabling them to focus on their studies. Then, scholars dive into exciting summer internships at world-class DoD facilities during school breaks.

Graduate Fellowships for STEM Diversity (GFSD)
All GFSD Fellows receive $20,000 in funding to go toward their graduate stipend. Fellowships are renewable annually in discussion with partner agencies and fellowships are typically offered to 3-6 years. In addition to funding, the fellowship provides an opportunity to participate in paid summer internships at federal agencies or companies.

American Association of Petroleum Geologists Foundation Grants-in-Aid
The AAPG Foundation Grants-in-Aid provides financial assistance to graduate students whose thesis research has application to the search for and development of petroleum and energy-mineral resources, and/or to related environmental geology issues. Awards range from $500 to $3,000 and cover expenses directly related to the student's research, such as field work and laboratory analyses.

Boren Fellowship
Boren Fellowships fund research and language study proposals by U.S. graduate students in world regions critical to U.S. interests. Proposed programs of two or more semesters are strongly encouraged. Maximum awards are determined by duration abroad: up to $25,000 for 25-52 weeks (preferred); up to $12,500 for 12-24 weeks

The Moore Family Fellowship in the Making of American Landscape
$5,000 award intended to promote, expand, enrich and develop the body of research in significant man-made changes to the American landscape since the country’s founding in 1776. Open to research in areas of historic preservation, architectural history, landscape architecture, infrastructure, history, American studies, civil engineering and environmental engineering, and related fields.

Summer Graduate Student Research Fellowships
The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies is pleased to offer annual Summer Graduate Student Research Fellowships designed for students accepted to or currently enrolled in a master’s degree program or in the first year of a PhD program at a college or university in North America. Students who have completed more than one year of doctoral work will not be considered.
