Motivation to pursue a graduate degree
I've always believed that life is about growth and becoming a better person every day. Studying has never been just about a degree, but about a constant search for knowledge and the development of skills with which I can truly make a difference in other people's lives. When the Fulbright scholarship gave me the chance to pursue a graduate degree in the U.S. I started looking for the right place to continue my academic development. I decided on FSU because it felt like the right degree and community to support my personal and professional growth.
Importance and/or impact of research and work
I am pursuing my Master's in Sports Nutrition because I believe everyone has the power to change their own life and achieve their unique goals. Regardless of what someone aims to accomplish, sustained success is only possible when it is built on a foundation of good health. I view my field as a way to empower others to take control of their journey and make a lasting impact.
Career aspirations
After I finish my graduate program I plan to pursue a PhD so I can contribute to and be part of the research that helps people improve their lives. My goal is to discover new insights in the field of Sports Nutrition that offer others the tools they need to reach their full potential. Along this way, I hope to inspire others to work for what they want and show that dedication and hard work is worth it, when you reach your goal in the end.
Advice for anyone considering graduate school
Graduate school can be whatever you need it to be for you. It is a place where you grow and develop as a person, it is a place where you dive deep into your academic area and become smarter everyday, it is a place where you reflect on the purpose of your career it is a place where you make meaningful connections that outlast the two years of grad school and it is a place where you become your best version of yourself.
Accomplishments during graduate career
I am most proud of the fact that my academic efforts have consistently opened doors to a global education, from Europe to my current Fulbright journey in the US. I worked hard to build a foundation that gives me the freedom to choose my own environment and continue my growth. For me getting accepted as a Fulbright scholar and into FSU is a reflection of my belief that dedication leads to the availability of many meaningful options in life.
