Motivation to pursue a graduate degree at FSU
I have wanted to go to law school since I was in the eighth grade. My mom (an FSU undergrad alum) first encouraged me to apply to FSU because she had such a positive experience in her undergraduate studies. After applying and getting in, I was able to see and experience firsthand how brilliant and supportive the FSU community has been (from peers to professors). I have not looked back since!
Importance and/or impact of research and work
I am excited about my upcoming work as a Florida Gubernatorial Fellow. I will be joining a network of hundreds of past Fellows and leaders who will provide invaluable advice and insight into the professional world. Further, I will have the unique opportunity to work with a state agency/department and develop a policy proposal to present to the Governor based on my work there.
Career aspirations
I am interested in pursuing a career in civil litigation. My long-term goal is to become a lawyer specializing in civil litigation for a large law firm in Florida.
Advice for anyone considering graduate school
Time management is key! Once you figure that out, you should be able to balance school and your personal life without a hitch.
Accomplishments during graduate career
I am extremely honored to have been selected as a Gubernatorial Fellow. I am also especially proud about receiving a Book Award for Legal Research & Writing, becoming a member of FSU's Law Review journal, and completing an internship with the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida.
