Motivation to pursue a graduate degree

I was eager to learn more about what the field had to offer me. I wanted to know more. I choose FSU for its amazing opportunity for growth and knowledge.

Importance and/or impact of research and work

The most influential thing about being in graduate school is the culture of pushing through, failing, overcoming. The people you meet and the struggles and experiences they encounter can inspire you, yourself.

Career aspirations

I want to work in a national research lab. I love lab work and always adapting and thinking of ways to improve or solve issues.

Advice for anyone considering graduate school

It won't be easy, but it will for sure be rewarding. You will remember your time here forever, so make the best out of it take risks be scared do the thing.

Accomplishments during graduate career

I am most proud of my first author paper, it is the bulk of my research here at FSU, so it means a lot to me. I am also proud of myself for presenting at conferences, spaces where most don't look like me. I attended the GRC crystal growth assembly and two ACS meetings, giving presentations, outside of my comfort zone. I was also mentioned in the FSU Research.
